Lazygoy and I attended the Davao Bloggers Party 2008 last Saturday, June 14 @ Toto’s Bar (Casa Leticia). I didn’t really know what to expect when I signed up for the event. All I know was that it was going to be a small gathering of Davao-based bloggers…and that the FOOD & DRINKS were FREE! (hehe)

So we came, we ate and we left…nah! That’s not what really happened. We actually sat until the prepared program for the night was through..and if I may add, I had a nice time at the party. Ok that’s too conservative a word to describe it ~ enlightening seemed like a more fitting adjective. ~_~

The night was ENLIGHTENING in a lot of ways. For starters, I wasn’t really aware that such a community exists in Davao. Second, it was nice to meet people who are genuinely passionate about blogging. I personally know one though (LAZYGOY! ~ who else?! hehe) but I haven’t really had the chance to sit in a room full of people who love to blog.

The truth is, I actually felt like an outcast ~ a genuine embarrassment to the blogging community. =( Aside from the fact that I haven’t updated my posts in a while, I had intended to grace the event with my inconspicuous presence because of all the FREEBIES (free food, free coffee, free drinks, raffle prizes). And I felt even more ashamed when I was asked to receive a raffle prize and was requested to speak in front–just like everybody else. While everyone was “all smiles” when they presented their blog sites, I was smiling timidly because I knew deep inside that I am nothing more than a “Free-riding Impostor”. T T Char lang! hehe ~_~ I just felt compelled to color it up a bit to make it sound interesting. hehe
